Normally, in the bottom right of the screen you will see a internet button, this looks like two screens over lapping each other. Double click this and connect to a network, you will need a network card or internet USB stick. laptops should have them installed.

The new computer will most likely have a wifi adapter already installed with its own drivers. You connect exactly like you did on the old one, but giving it the SSID and security key of you set up in the router.
hi 117buste…, when you run the flavour of windows 7 beta what microsoft did was to take the best of windows xp & vista to make windows 7 beta so when they say that windows 7 is windows xp compatible it is saying that windows 7 is another windows xp only better. but now linksys router i don’t have much faith in please allow me to explain… i got a linksys router from my internet provider dsl broadband now please understand that i am very advanced almost a geek but i could not get it to work on my computer so with hurt pride i called and they sent out their tech and we worked for two days straight and that was six hours both days. now the technision claimed that they hook it up and in fifteen minutes they have it hooked and running so why didn’t it work on my computer? nothing different so i put my fears to rest to understand that some houses it works great but in other homes it is not too hot. but why though? i have some power lines too close and it is effecting my signal? or i wasn’t holding my mouth right yes that’s it but ya know what they say you can’t win em all. good luck hope i was helpful to you
